PUBLIC NOTICE The Culpeper County Planning Commission will hold a SPECIAL CALLED Public Hearing on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, 302 North Main Street. Social distancing measures may be implemented. Please be aware for signage. The following item(s) will be on the agenda for consideration and public comments are invited. A. Proposed Amendment to Zoning Ordinance: The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding a potential addition to Appendix A (Zoning Ordinance) of the County Code. The proposed addition of ARTICLE 17-7 (Standards and Procedures for Renewable Energy Generation/Utility Scale Solar Facilities) is intended to regulate utility scale energy genera- tion uses in the County, including but not limited to: establishing (i) rele- vant definitions, (ii) a statement of intent, (iii) process for consideration, (iv) area regulations, (v) decommissioning provisions, (vi) application requirements, and (vii) permit conditions, etc. This matter was referred to the Planning Commission by the Board of Supervisors after a work session held on February 9, 2021. The Planning Commission held work sessions on March 17, 2021; April 14, 2021; April 21, 2021 & May 19, 2021; a public hear- ing on June 8, 2021; and a supplemental work session on July 8, 2021. The Planning Commission determined that the proposed ordinance amend- ment is necessary to further the general purpose of promoting the health, safety or general welfare of the public and other purposed as found in Code of Virginia Section 15.2-2283. Interested persons may attend this meeting in person to express their views. Full copies of application documents are available for inspection during normal business hours in the Department of Development and in the Office of the County Administrator, 302 North Main Street, Culpeper, Virginia, 22701. These documents are also available by mail, email, and drop box pick up appointment through the Department of Development and the Office of the County Administrator.
