NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS REMINGTON TOWN COUNCIL Please take notice that on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the scheduled Monthly Work Session of the Remington Town Council 2 public hearings will be conducted at Remington Town Hall located at 105 East Main Street, Remington, Virginia to receive public comment on the proposed FY 2021-2022 budget pursuant to Va. Code §§ 15.2-2506 & 15.2-2507. All interested persons may attend and express their views. 1. The first public hearing pertains to the proposed FY2021-22 Budget: SUMMARY OF PROPOSED FY 2021-2022 BUDGET GENERAL FUND: $339,192.66 WATER FUND: $363,985.00 DMV FUND: $ 188,286.79 CEMETERY FUND: $20,350.00 CEMETERY TRUST FUND: $32,810.00 Total Revenue: $944,624.45 Expenditures: $944,624.45 Real Estate Tax Rate .125¢/$100 no change; Personal Property Tax Rate $1.10/$100 - no change FOLLOWING THE PUBLIC HEARING, THERE WILL BE NO ACTION ON THE FY2021-22 BUDGET. 2. The second public hearing pertains to an amendment to the FY 2020-21 Budget: The proposed amendment would add $125,228.57 from the COVID-19 Relief Account and $70,000 from the Sale of Assets to the General Fund for the purpose of funding the general operating expenses of the Town. Currently, the total budget for the Town is $818,843.36 and the General Fund is $284,883.33. If the proposed amendment is approved, the total budget for the Town would be $1,014,071.93 and the General Fund would be $480,111.90. FOLLOWING THE PUBLIC HEARING, THERE MAY BE ACTION TO APPROVE THE FY2020-21 BUDGET AMENDMENT.
