About Fauquier Health Cardiology
Heart and Vascular Center
In addition to helping you take care of your heart with preventative programs, Fauquier Health offers cardiac screenings and emergency care, and is a Certified Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center.
Fauquier Hospital's Emergency Department is equipped to handle cardiac emergencies. Call 911 if you think you or a loved one is having a heart attack or a stroke.
Cardiopulmonary and Vascular Services at Fauquier Hospital offers an array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for both inpatient and outpatient clients with cardiac, neurological, vascular and respiratory conditions. This department consists of five specialty areas that are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies.
Fauquier Health’s cardiac catheterization lab performs a variety of diagnostic procedures that provide cardiologists with a look at what is happening inside and outside a patient's heart. X-ray technology is used to provide a moving synopsis of the area of focus. This allows cardiologists to obtain a detailed view into how the patient's heart muscle, valves, and coronary arteries are functioning.
Interventional radiology (IR) is a subspecialty of radiology. By combining the most advanced technology with the fundamentals of patient care, interventional radiologists are able to use image-guided (minimally invasive) procedures to diagnose and/or treat certain heart conditions.
Fauquier Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is a medically prescribed exercise and education program for seniors, and others who have had a heart attack or heart surgery or who have stable angina or other forms of cardiovascular disease. A physician referral is required for cardiac rehab and most insurances cover the program cost.
Peripheal Vascular offers venous duplex, carotid doppler and arterial studies for the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with vascular problems or conditions.
