Leadership Fredericksburg is proud to welcome Alicia Turner, president and CEO of North Compass Solutions, LLC, to the Leadership Fredericksburg faculty.
A proud graduate of the Leadership Fredericksburg Class of 2025, Alicia’s journey with the program has quickly evolved from participant to mentor, speaker, Advisory Committee member and now faculty member. Her continued involvement reflects one of the strengths of Leadership Fredericksburg, the opportunity for graduates to take what they have learned, stay engaged and invest in the leaders who follow them.
Alicia brings more than 25 years of experience in executive leadership, operations, human resources and organizational development. Before founding North Compass Solutions, she held senior leadership roles within a billion-dollar healthcare organization, including chief operations officer and vice president of human resources, organizational development and initiative management.

Today, through North Compass Solutions, Alicia works with organizations across government, nonprofit, healthcare, education and commercial sectors to build high-performing teams, strengthen leadership and align people and processes to achieve meaningful results.
Her philosophy on leadership is grounded in experience and the belief that leadership development should go beyond theory. Alicia focuses on helping leaders strengthen self-awareness, make better decisions, navigate complexity and translate good intentions into action.
She is also the author of The Powerhouse Team Playbook: How to Build a High-Performing, Results-Driven Team and holds an MBA along with credentials including SHRM-SCP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Maxwell Leadership, Everything DiSC®, The Five Behaviors®, MBTI® and professional leadership coaching.
Alicia’s commitment to leadership extends throughout the community. She has served in board and committee roles with organizations including the Medical Benevolence Foundation, Chamber’s Network of Enterprising Women, University of Mary Washington Women’s Leadership Colloquium, The Carmel School and Women United of the Rappahannock United Way.
Her leadership experience also extends beyond the executive suite. Alicia and her husband, Lenwood, have operated Turner Transport for 20 years while raising their two sons and remaining active in their Caroline County community. Those experiences have helped shape a leadership philosophy grounded in the realities of balancing people, priorities, relationships and responsibilities.
Alicia sums up that philosophy simply: simplify what is complex, keep learning, lead people well and turn leadership into meaningful results.
As Leadership Fredericksburg celebrates 20 years of developing leaders throughout the region, Alicia’s journey from a member of the Class of 2025 to the program’s faculty demonstrates the lasting impact of the LF experience and the power of alumni continuing to invest in one another.
