Sponsorships and tickets now available for October 24 fundraiser in Fredericksburg
FREDERICKSBURG, VA. — Rapidan Equine Sanctuary (RES), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing sanctuary to neglected equines while embracing the bond they share with humans, will mark its first year of operation with “Becoming Sanctuary: Raising a Glass to a Future Worth Building,” a cocktail reception and silent auction on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
The event will be held at 24360 Oak Meadow Lane in Fredericksburg and will feature signature cocktails, gourmet hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, all in support of RES’s commitment to equines, people, communities and the land. Guests are encouraged to dress in elevated country attire — sport coats, crisp shirts, polished denim, dresses and boots.
Founded on a 40-acre property along the Spotsylvania-Culpeper County line, RES is 100% volunteer-run and distinguishes itself from traditional rescues by focusing on lifetime care rather than rehoming. RES is guided by five core values: Integrity, Courage, Compassion, Education and Fun. Since beginning operations in March 2025, RES has provided sanctuary to 18 equines and is working with organizations like the Virginia Cooperative Extension to host equine and pasture management courses.

Event sponsorships and tickets
“Becoming Sanctuary” offers the community several ways to get involved and support RES’s continued growth:
- Legacy Sponsor — $5,000: Premier recognition, 8 tickets, a VIP sanctuary tour, a curated commemorative gift, premier logo placement on all event materials and recognition during welcome remarks, on the website and on social media.
- Champion Sponsor — $2,500: 6 tickets, featured logo on event signage and in the program, recognition during welcome remarks, on the website and on social media, and an invitation to a private sanctuary tour.
- Guardian Sponsor — $1,000: 4 tickets, name or logo in the program and on sponsor signage, website recognition and a guided sanctuary tour.
- Steward Sponsor — $500: 2 tickets, name listed in the program and on sponsor signage.
- Individual Ticket — $150: An evening of food, drink and community in support of RES’s mission.

Silent auction donations
Supporters unable to attend the event can still help by donating to the silent auction. RES is seeking donations such as travel packages, gift cards and experiences, local goods and services, wine or liquor baskets, and unique or rare items, with proceeds going directly toward equine care and education.
